I took a month-and-a-half long hiatus from this blog series. But I’m back now!

I took a break because I was working on other projects and assignments (plus I wasn’t really in the mood to create playlists, quite frankly). And I actually wasn’t planning on coming back until like September, but I kept hearing new songs that I wanted to share, and so here we are.

This year has been filled with drama and rather than distract from it with this month’s playlist, I thought we’d just lean all the way into it instead. July’s playlist is filled with sing-at-the-top-of-your-lungs theatrics and big feelings. It has no chill.

You’ve been warned. 😉

A few notes about the selected songs for July:

Mood: Mama’s Gonna Move You Uptown, No Safety Nets Here, Big Feelings and Bigger Hair, Light ‘Em Up, Stunts on the Runway, American Bandstand Reboot, Wheels of Fate Keep on Turnin’, Please Scream Inside Your Heart and Wear a Damn Mask, Fix Your Makeup For That Zoom Call

Included Artists: Beyoncé, Lizzo, Megan Thee Stallion, Saweetie, Big Freedia, Miranda Lambert, Tina Turner, Jhené Aiko, Kehlani, The Chicks, Reba McEntire, Glee Cast, Naya Rivera, Marvin Gaye, Tammi Terrell, Cardi B, Mariah Carey, Aretha Franklin, Saweetie, Matchbox Twenty, Tamara Bubble, Wale, G-Eazy, T-Pain, Yung Joc, Niña Dioz, Ciara, Ludacris, Christina Aguilera, Mark Ronson, Amy Winehouse, Kelly Clarkson, Dua Lipa, Lorde, James Brown, Missy Elliott

Genres: R&B, Pop, Rap, Hip-hop, Country, Neo Soul, Alternative Rock, Soul, Dance Pop, Electropop, Funk

As always, I’ve made the playlist public, so go ahead and follow it, if you’d like.

Here’s the playlist for July. Enjoy!
