I don’t think April’s playlist actually has a theme.

It’s more of a mood and style than anything else. It’s definitely different than any of the other playlists I’ve posted thus far.

For the month of April, I decided to emphasize songs from the past and songs that took elements from the past and reinvented them. And so there’s a lot of classical music, R&B and jazz. But true to myself: pop music and hip-hop still make appearances here and there, even if the classics featured have been a bit reinterpreted.

A few notes about the selected songs for April:

Mood: Back to Basics, Quiet Strength,  All the Classics, String Theory, Time Is Cyclical, Songs For Your Past Lives, A Playlist For Those Ahead of Their Time, Daydream Soundtrack

Included Artists: Lizzo, Janelle Monáe, Alicia Keys, Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, Black Violin, Anthony Hamilton, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Nina Simone, Édith Piaf, Rebecca Ferguson, Common, Aretha Franklin

                Genres: R&B, Pop, Rap, Hip-hop, Classical/Orchestral, Jazz

As always, I’ve made the playlist public, so go ahead and follow it, if you’d like.

Here’s the playlist for April. Enjoy!
