So if you’ve been following along, you know good and well today’s task is NOT about flirting.
But this is a classy, almost-PG site, so there will be no graphic descriptions of any events of a sexual nature going on here; which is why I’ve elected to keep Day 9 strictly about flirting and dating.
That said, today is my first official total failure to complete a task in the 14 Days program. Though I knew about the nature of today’s task ahead of time, I realize now that the timing of this project could have been better. That way, Day 9 could have occurred during a weekend when I didn’t have to work late or at least during a point in my life when I’m not single.
While changing the objective of today’s task not only makes it more appropriate for a professional blog, it also gives me a better chance to complete Day 9 without having a boyfriend or engaging in sketchy, random hookups. I don’t need a boyfriend to flirt and I get to keep my pants on. Yay.
There’s another bonus: I’m a naturally shy person and committing myself to finish this newly redesigned task will force me break through that in a huge way. Boosting my self-confidence by going out of my comfort zone might have its own stress reducing benefits. We’ll see.
So here’s what I’m proposing: I’m planning on adding an extra day and blog post to the program, a re-do for today’s failure. Most likely it will happen towards the end of next week, after the 14th day. But it depends on my work schedule. So when I have a better idea, I will post an update on this post. Promise.
As always, I hope you enjoyed this post; though, regrettably, I’m not able to write more about Day 9’s task until next week. Don’t hesitate to let me know what you think. I’d love to hear your opinions, questions and stories!
I’d also like to thank SELF Magazine for posting the article, “14 Days to a Happier, Healthier You!” , which inspired this blog post.
Thanks for reading and I hope you’ve all had a lovely weekend!
